My husband and I were in Tunis at the beginning of this month. We were there for 10 days.

Our hotel was situated in Mahdia. It is a small town with nice long beaches. Our hotel was named «Vincci nour palace». It is a 5-stars hotel.

Our room was not far from the sea. Every morning I could watch the sunrise from my balcony. The room was vary large, about 45 m2. There was a bathroom, a small kitchen, a big sleeping-place, and an area for the rest with cushioned furniture and TV. To tell the truth, i didn’t like this hotel. That was due to shabby towels in the bathroom and restaurant and very lazy waiters.

The weather, to my regret, was far from ideal. The strong wind blew and there were clouds in the sky. We saw even small waterspout. But it was a double edged sword. Because we got opportunities for excursions.

My husband bought two excursions. The first was into the capital of the country – Tunis-city and into the ancient Carthage (for 1 day). The other – into Sahara – desert (for 2 day).

I liked the second tour more, because our group visited many interesting place. For example, we were in El Jem. It is small agricultural centre, famous for its amphitheatre. There were Romans, who built this construction. The building looks like its older brother in Rome. After El Jem, we visited the desert rode camels.

Our group spent the night in the hotel, situated in the oasis, which was named Douz, not far from the last place.
That hotel was no good, but there was a nice kalian-café. My husband and I like to smoke kalian very much.
The second day of the trip began with our visit to Salinas. They look like Urals’ lakes in winter. But African ones are covered by salt instead ice. This is the very beautiful view.

When our excursions had finished, I had time for the rest on the beach. But I met a woman, who advertised thalasso-centre, which was situated in the neighbouring hotel – «Mahdia palace». I decided to visit that place.
It was something wonderful. I got some different cosmetological procedures during 2 days. This included a hamam, a pilling, a pack with therapeutic muds and some kind of massages. But most of enjoyments I got from a pool. It was equipped with different hydromassages. Besides it was full of sea-water.
I didn’t want to leave this country. I think I will return to Tunis once more.
