Although his character Jin speaks Korean exclusively, Daniel Dae Kim’s native language is English, and never spoke Korean before «Lost.» He learned many of his lines phonetically, and his co-star Yunjin Kim, who plays Sun, had to tutor him in pronunciation on the set. (src)
