Но в основном удается объяснить, что их авторы Vox'а ничего не смыслят в творчестве Лавкрафта.

Lovecraft refers to Cthulhu with many different names, including “the Dread One,” “Tsathoggua,” and “Him Who is not to be Named.” He was the pinnacle of a race of monsters that Lovecraft called “Elder Gods” or “Great Old Ones.” Other gods in this vein included creatures Lovecraft dubbed yog-sothoth, “night-gaunts,” and various cryptically named demons.

Тут все в кучу: и Cthulhu, и Tsathoggua (божество которое вообще-то воевало с Ctulhu) и Great Old Ones (которые вообще Cthulhu боялись).

Все бы хорошо, но все творчество Лавкрафта сейчас доступно бесплатно, беспалева и СМС. Открываем "Horror of Red Hook" и читаем:

modern people under lawless conditions tend uncannily to repeat the darkest instinctive patterns of primitive half-ape savagery in their daily life

Лавкрафт писал, что без закона, все мы обезьяны. Все, без исключения, вне зависимости от расы. С чем я полностью согласен.
